Treatment of Vial with HCl

I have observed the procedure of HCl acid treatment for vials over night. before washing the vials. Is it really required?

If they are ‘fresh’ vials why are you doing this? You should NEVER reuse vials!

Thanks for your input, On my queries to them, I was answered that it was done for drug product which has acidic pH (2.5-2.8)( Midazolam Injection BP) for stability of the product as glass are alkaline in nature and changes the pH of the product. I was not convinced with the answer so thought to ask to the forum. Please suggest.

Just toss the vials after use. I assume they are HPLC vials.
