Recovery of Detergent (SLS)

Hi everyone. I want to know if its neccesary make the recovery test for the cleaning agent. My idea is to measure the conductivity of the cleaning waters before cleaning with alcohol (the last step); for that i made a calibration curve between 0.1 ppm and 80 ppm of sls.

Thanks for advice.

Yes. You will need a supporting document to demonstrate that the cleaning procedure is effective. Conductivity of the return DI water is used to demonstrate that the cleaning procedure has been completed.

TOC is used during the cleaning validation campaign to monitor API/SLS/excipient residues on the process train. Therefore, you should have a chart of SLS concentration versus TOC response. However, alcohol is TOC reactive (particularly IPA).
