I’ve always been curious, about these things. What is their purpose? I mean, if I am writing a validation plan, isn’t this just redundant and a waste of energy. The only reason that I can see for this is to justify not validating. Typically, though, you know if an application is GMP, it isn’t a revelation or anything. “OMG, we need to validate this document management system!”
I think these forms can be useful. We continually see that validation should be risk based and procedures / forms like this can be used to perform (and document) that risk assessment. I would expect that efforts like this would be done prior to the validation plan and would be used to drive inputs to the plan.
