What is Cp and CpK? How to derive its equation? How to Calulate?

Two of the most common capability indices are Cp and Cpk. The Cp is an index which tells you how your process variability compares to your specification range. The calculation is Cp = (USL-LSL)/6σ. The Cpk is an index which tells you how centered your data is within your specification range. The result (Cpk) is the lesser of two calculations: (USL-Avg)/3σ or (Avg-LSL)/3σ. For a process to be considered capable your Cp should be greater than or equal to 1.67 and your Cpk should be greater than or equal to 1.33. Hope this helps.
