In production area equipments are cleaning with commercial solvents.
But in Cleaning analytical method validation or analysis in Laboratory, what solvent is used for standard preparation?
Commercial solvents or AR grade solvents?

In analysis all chemicals and solvents in use are of AR grade. Probably you are confused with the solvents used for cleaning and organic solvents used in analysis (Chromatography) or the solvent used for swab sampling technique these all are different things. Solvents used in cleaning can be a detergent diluted with water, it can be a plane hot water so basically in cleaning validation the intention is not only for the detection of API but for the other entities as well, like traces of detergent used and excepients for cleaning. Normally solvents which is used in swab sampling should be of AR grade and the same is used as a blank to establish the specificity.
