SOP for Issue,Distribution and Control of label

Now a days in-process label like release label should be controlled.Can any one give some procedures or instruction how to Issue, distribution and control the label?

In my past life it was QA (part of the Quality Unit)that printed the necessary labels and distributed them to manufacturing/operations. They were also responsible for label control, and counting unused labels.

So is it required any SOP? Here I mentioned label which is like status label, rejection label, dispense label etc.

Yes. Everything (date, product number, lot…).
