Label counting machine validation

How to validate the label counting machine.
Also, how to perform IQ,OQ,PQ of the machine

Dear
There is no such guideline for Label counting machine validation that is why you will haveto go through your URS. Label counting machine is only for label couting so its main parameter is only that label should be dispense throuh it as per display count.
Then run the machine three time and count the dispensed quantity of Label and no. of label and counting no. which is displayed on screen should be same.

Sir,

Thanks and Best Regards.

Bye!

Well, Let me guess:

IQ - If the equipment is located as mentioned in Facility Document, If it is powered on, backup power is available, aptly located in terms of distance from walls, easy to operate thru corners and no hard to reach spots, power supplied as per required specs, etc.

OQ - Turn it on, count some labels in the manufactureers range say 1 - 1000 and verify by manually counting the labels. I will also check that no labels are damaged in any possibke way during the counting process

PQ - Turn it on, count labels in daily operating range of the facility like 23-600 , verify by manually counting the labels

The User manual can give good starting point as to what all the machine can do (OQ) and URS (if any) will give what the machine will be used for (PQ)

Another way to validate your label counting machine/table without having to physically count labels is to purchase a certified test roll from one of the label table manufacturers you work with. Full disclosure, our company, ScanningDevicesinc.com offers a certified test roll of 1000 labels on a 3" core that will allow you to confidently validate your machine. One roll cost $275.00 and can be used over and over on any machine running/counting labels with 3" label cores.

Hi,

I will suggest rather than just qualify…qualify…qualify, Assess the risk & criticallity of the system. In actual some times whta happens we qualify all the systems…bits/ pieces by concept that “Hey, Everything which is lying in facility or moving in Facility is Critical, Lates Validate / Qualify It ! ! !”. Instead assessment is really become the source for getting rid on these issues…Here motive of this post is not opening the fire…hey you should not validate it !, individual organization based on their assessment & criticallity from the user point of View should be the basis for decision to validate / qualify.

Approach as described above will remain same. Nice Post Mr. Yogibear.
