Equipment Train

Dear Validators

When determining the total surface area for an equipment cleaning train (inorder to calculate the cleaning limit), does one include the surface areas for both the major manufacturing equipment as well as utensils (such as spatulas, buckets, mixing utensils, etc.)?

Dear Graham,

You have consider the commen utensils used in the manufacturing process (sifting, granulation,coating, packing), since those are directly contact with the product.and if iam not wrong we have to give swab for all utensils.
if you want to skip this you should have a justification saying that those utensils are easy to clean.

You need to consider all contact parts. For Utensil such as scoops you may group them and take the total surface area which in reality will not significantly impact the limit.
