Document Storage is it 7 years for GMP Documents?

Hi all,

I work for a pharmaceutical company based in Dublin and we have recently had some issues with space with regard to storing our BMR’s and BPR’s. I made a suggestion that we store all our documents on hard drives which would eliminate the need to use cardboard boxes to store our files. Unfortunately my idea got shot down as i was told that it is GMP to store all physical documents for 7 years. Can somebody please tell me is this true or not? ,And also if you have been in a similar situation with your own company how did you manage to resolve the issue?

Thank you,

Paidi.

Try storing your paper documentation offsite in a warehouse.

MBRs/BMRs are kept in record for one year after the expiry of any product…
