Can anyone advice on what cleaning validation will be required on drains?

Jay, out of curiosity why do you need to do cleaning validation on drains? What system (tank, skid, process equipment) are you performing the validation on?

There is no need for cleaning validation on a drain, its a drain therfore it sole purpose it to remove ‘dirty’ effluent.
On all drains where I work we have non-return valves fitted and pressure tested so it is never an issue.
