Automated Visual Inspection

I’m beginning a project to qualify an automated visual inspection machine for glass vials. The machine inspects for particle and cosmetic defects.

Does anyone have any experience in minimizing false rejects? Specifically, if an accept in two strategy is a standard approach. That is running rejects through the machine a second time before scrapping them.

Is there any guidance on running rejects through a manual or semi-auto inspection process?
