In placing TC’s from a Kaye validator in an autoclave during empty chanber testing, what is the best way to mount the TC? Is there a recommended distance from the wall? Also, when doing heat penetration studies, do you always have to pull vacuum on a bag or can the items just be wrapped in the plastic bag with a TC and BI?

For an empty chamber I usually using autoclave tape (loads of it) to stick the TC’s in place. If they are good TC then you will be able to hang them and turn them whatever way you require.
Yes you always have to pull a vacuum otherwise you could have air trapped in there.
