How about changing the titles to something more applicable

like validation analyst, validation expert etc.

Thanks

Mary

Mary,

Great idea and done!

Here’s how it goes

0 posts = Validation Analyst

50 posts = Validation Expert

150 posts or over = Validation Guru

Keeps those idea’s coming

Add/build-in automated colleague referral functionality e.g. “Joe Bloggs said you might be interested in this web site” …{include clickable http link etc etc.}

Maybe also include a referral counter for existing members?

Good idea David

I’ll look into it.

In response to your question about a referral program there is one and here’s how it works.

  1. Log into askaboutvalidation.com using your id and password.

  2. Click on FAQ - General Forum Usage - What are referrals

  3. There you will find you own unique referral link

eg.
http://www.askaboutvalidation.com/index.php?referrerid=xxx

Where xxx represents your own unique id.

  1. Simply send an email to a friend with your unique referral link and when that person clicks on the link and registers your referral count will increase by 1. The person must register for this to happen.

Hope that clears it up

Well, i can suggest to motivate members by giving them awards like just nominate “Best Q of the month”, “Best Answer of the month”, “Shortest Average Response Time to reply”, “Expert of the month”, “Best thread of the month” etc etc. For the selection u can go for the members poll. so it can be more fair.

Dear sir,

Find out requirement of different regulatory bodies about our subject of concern?(ie. MCC/TGA/ MCA, US,ISO etc)
thanks,
Vishwesh

One change that would help me be more active is to send thread updates out over the RSS feed. As I understand now, only new threads are send out over the feed. I try to monitor the site using the feeds so I miss some good discussion unless I physically check the site.

In forums where I get thread updates over RSS feeds, I find I’m far more active. It’s easier for me to scan through the list of updates from my reader than going to the site and scanning through all the threads to see if there are any updates.

However, I understand that if I’m the only one using the RSS feed, there may not be enough benefit to justify the cost. Thanks for considering it.

To get the latest posts add &lastpost=1 to the end of the RSS Feed URL,

it should then update your feed not only for new threads but also new posts.

Every user can have an individual profoile and then connect to other users and then grow his network as in FAcebook or Orkut. Just throwing it in there.

If only it was possible to insert images graphs etc in the post that would be great. Right now it seems to exist but not working

This function does work, please send me on the image you would like to upload and I will test it.

Well this is a good site for technical discussion and problem solving site. But I think this need wide participants. Some sort of attraction or advertising is needed to increase the participation of analysts, experts and gurus and to make it very informative technical discussion site.

Hi daprawan

Thanks for your input, we are a medium sized company and at the moment we are trying to grow this site organically in the hope that it will become much bigger.

18 months ago this site did not exist and now we get over 500,000 hits per month.

I hope that in another 12 months it will be even bigger and better.

thanks again

It’s nice to know that there are hundreds upon hundreds of Analysts and Gurus…! Is there any room for the thousands of Validation and Engineering Technical Support Specialists? The guy that really knows the nuts and bolts of machinery and equipment. The guy with the Instrumentation and Manufacturing, Packaging and Hi-Speed Assembly Machinery experience. How about the guy that was around doing SOP’s and FDA Certifications even before Validation became a fad for some?

Any suggestions?

What do you suggest, let me know what you are thinking and we can hopefullt help out.

how about a section on how to write effective IQ’s. i have seen some dreadful IQ’s that seem to have been written by chimpanzees…

i don’t want to seem critical about non-knowledgable Professionals, but leave the Due-Diligence and the technical stuff to the Real Techs…

Do you mean an overall section for document writing or one just specific to IQ’s.

There is A Good Documentation Practice section here if that would suffice

http://www.askaboutvalidation.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=27
.

Perhaps you could write a brief article about generating IQ’s and that could get the ball rolling!

Let me know what you think?

i have to apologize; i acted and wrote on impulse due to frustration here at this end. what i meant to say is that some people do not really get to know a piece of equipment and when the time comes to perform the executions, they usually fail because it (IQ) was too simplistic or did not gather enough information about the machine or equipment.

i guess what is needed are real techs to assist engineers in this endeavor. Many newer engineers, that get into this field or rather are “brought” into the field, do not have the skills to go it alone.

i think this field should open the doors for Technicians with extensive technical background in Instrumentation/Electronics/Automation/Mechatronics/Electricity/Pneumatics/Mechanics/Hydraulics etc.

getting back to the main subject; …the forum should include a section on how to conduct an inspection of the equipment/machine/tool/machinery/jigs/fixtures etc. Validation is not just about compliance, writing, higher levels of science or some impenetrable magical mystical land. sensibly speaking, it’s about Man, Machine, Materials… and well you know! Let’s get off the scientific camel and start talking reality, this is a beatiful field of work, but Glorifying oneself with sophisticated Titles and terminolgy does not make a Good Validation Specialist!

believe me, i know what i’m saying; i am living this as i speak/write.
